Scenario Battles

Specialized chapters that change as the characters change over time. If a character dies, is injured/incapacitated, or changes sides, it will affect the story as a whole.

However, the scenario battles that affect the main storyline ARE DIFFERENT to the side stories (collaboration and non-sequiturs). Some nuances do translate into the side stories from the main line, but not the other way around.

Finally, there are scripted events that happen regardless of certain choices. They are usually held for key moments in the story, but that doesn't mean they are immune to the choices that happened prior.

The rules of the scenario battles are important to keep in mind so pay attention. There are three things you can do called Pending Actions before committing to an action (usually listed in numbered choices): Observe, Check Inventory, and Wait.

  • Observe allows you to search around your surroundings and pick out what the character sees.

  • Check Inventory allows you to take a look at your current equipment, as well as items on your person that you can use either instantly or requires a turn to use.

  • Wait - Passes a turn and automatically observes the closest thing around the character.

Some of these Pending Actions can lead into sub options under the right conditions.

NOTE: Turns for these Pending Actions are limited and depend on how fast the situation is shaping up. Sometimes they will have less actions (Quick Time), or more (Planning Phase)

The "IMPROVISE" option is a very risky option regardless if you have limited or full knowledge of the situation. This will use up ALL the turns of the Pending Actions in favor of doing whatever within the time frame.
